It’s Monday, and who doesn’t like a little motivation to begin their week? I often think about motivation… all the different things that motivate me and others. I also think a lot about how we constantly need it. As some of you may know, I love Gaby Bernstein. She often refers to a text called “A Course In Miracles”. According to that text, the definition of a miracle is a change in perception. Well, I’ve realized that motivation and the definition of miracle are very similar. Usually when feeling unmotivated, we look at something, whether it be an inspirational video, picture, hear a story, or get naked and stand in front of the mirror for a while, all for a change in perception. I guess it depends on what you’re getting motivated for. I usually don’t stare at myself naked before I get ready to do the dishes. 😉
There was a quote I saw years ago. I’m not sure where it came from, but I think I remember seeing it in my old boss’s office. (Sara – did you have this in your office?) I should have it out where I can see it more often, as a constant reminder. Instead it is tucked away somewhere in my office and I come across it once in a while. I guess that may be just as good, since I believe things come to you in the perfect time. I must see it when I need it.
Here it is…
I love that! There is no such thing as an unimportant day. We often wait for Monday or countdown for a certain day to come, which can make us forget how important today is. Every day is! I also love the part of small choices lead to giant consequences over time. That is so true! Skipping the gym, having that extra bowl of ice cream, procrastinating… over time can all lead to big consequences that we don’t imagine in the moment we are making our decision.
I love this quote and how it changes my perception every time I read it. I hope that you like it just as much as I do. If so, leave a message and share your thoughts. Happy Monday! 🙂
